MENU

I’ve eaten at a few Cosy Club’s in the past and have always loved the modern menu and quirky atmosphere, so naturally when I was invited to try out their new Christmas menu, I jumped at the chance!

Our closest branch is Stamford, a town me and Bobby are both extremely fond of. If we had the money I have no doubt we’d move there. There’s just something so special about the little town and it isn’t short of places to eat either – a big tick in my books. Just a shame the houses are so damn expensive!

The restaurant itself is situated in Stamford’s former post office, retaining many of its original features. Walking into the large restaurant, you feel like you’ve entered a country mansion belonging to your long-lost eccentric aunt. There’s deer heads and wacky paintings, mismatched fonts and shabby-chic furnishings – all adding to the quirky environment.

A Boozy Reception

After being shown to our table, we were greeted by the restaurant manager who handed us a glass of fizz each – an instant winner for me! The table was set with crackers and candles, all adding to the festive ambience. Over the Christmas period Cosy Club are giving you the option to pre-order a selection of drinks for arrival which saves loads of hassle on the day.

Cocktail O’Clock

We were offered a drink of our choice to enjoy with our meal and after much deliberation the girls ordered the English Garden pitcher. It was gin based (classic Jasmin), with pressed apple juice and elderflower, finished with a slice of cucumber. What can I say? I love gin! The boys opted for the equally delicious Cherry Bakewell.

First Up

For starters there is only one option but my goodness, it did not disappoint. A glorious sharing platter of cosy Christmas favourites, with a few interesting twists thrown in for good measure. Honestly, I could’ve eaten all of those halloumi and sweetcorn bites they were A-MA-ZING.

The Main Event

There are six main courses on the menu and let’s just say I’m glad I invited a few friends along as we were given the opportunity to try one of EVERYTHING. My personal favourites were the Confit Duck Leg and the Pan-Fried Seabass with lobster butter. But if you’re looking for something a little less meaty, the vegetarian option of Halloumi & Winter Vegetable Wellington was equally delicious!

Something Sweet

And finally.. pudding! I’m the type of girl that lies in bed at night regretting the dessert I didn’t eat, so I was over the moon when again we were able to try one of each option on the menu. I am essentially drooling thinking back to the rich Chocolate and Orange Torte which was a firm favourite for all of the group. I would also recommend the Limoncillo Cheesecake if you’re looking for something a little lighter or there’s always the Christmas pudding with brandy sauce for the more traditional soul.

On a side note, I just wanted to say a massive thank you to all the staff at Cosy Club Stamford! They were so welcoming and really went above and beyond to make sure everyone was happy.

The Christmas menu runs 22nd November – 24th December and 3 courses costs £27.95. Click here to book your Christmas meal.

Oh wow, everything looks absolutely delicious! I’ve only ever had brunch at The Cosy Club, but I’m desperate to go back and try out the Dinner/Evening menu xo
