Spring, the season of fresh starts. Thank goodness.

This year spring is more welcome than ever, the warmer weather giving us hope of brighter times ahead. It’s the perfect opportunity for a seasonal refresh, one that’s not just limited to your wardrobe but your fragrance collection too.

When it comes to perfume, I tend to stick to what I know and rarely venture outside my comfort zone (Marc Jacobs Daisy I’m looking at you). But when Faîr Parfum reached out to me a couple of weeks ago, it only took a quick browse of their website to catch my attention.

Bisou by Faîr Parfum

Who are Faîr Parfum?

Faîr Parfum was never just about selling perfumes. Since 1988, the business has been a way of fighting back against injustices in the perfume industry, through fewer hours and fair wages. This core value of fairness is still deeply ingrained in the brand’s DNA to this day.

“My humble enterprise is founded on grand ambition, to make the world a better place, a faîrer place.”

Francis Charrier – Founder

Not only do they treat their employees and suppliers with fairness, but they also demonstrate fairness to the environment; using recyclable materials, sustainable ingredients and having zero tolerance for animal testing.

Through cutting out distributors and retailers, Faîr Parfum are able to offer a premium perfume at an affordable price. They’ve recently launched their first online collection of four luxury fragrances: Dawn Rose, Bisou, Royale and Gallant.

If you follow my instagram, you will know how selective I am about the brands I work with, but I’m honoured to share my thoughts on Bisou with you today, and interpret the fragrance through my photos.

Bisou

The perfume has top notes of black pepper, bergamot and cardamom. Heart notes of jasmine, violet and styrax. Base notes of cedarwood, patchouli and ceylonese sandalwood.

Bisou (translated as kiss) is named perfectly. If gentle kisses had a smell, it would be Bisou. It’s feminine and sensual, yet totally original. A traditional french perfume that’s beautifully romantic and just gives this aura of sophistication. Is difficult trying to describe a scent isn’t it? Hopefully my images do it justice.

Bisou by Faîr Parfum on a dressing table surrounded by purple flowers

I’ve come across lots of sandalwood perfumes, but for £75 this is a steal! Bisou by Faîr Parfum uses the maximum percentage of essential oils allowed under IFRA regulations and just a spritz of Bisou will last 8+ hours on my skin.

I love the fact that it’s ethical and sustainable, but even more so that it makes you feel like you’ve stepped back in time to the romance of the 1800’s. Bisou now sits proudly on my dressing table, ready for when the current restrictions are lifted. I can’t wait to wear it out in public!

I very much enjoyed your article. Like you, I love sandalwood. I have Bisou and I can confirm it is just wonderful. At £75 it is “a steal”. Thank you.

Thank you for a wonderful review, I have been wearing Bisou for over a month and you have captured its subtle elegance perfectly. Both Bisou and Fair are a breath of freshness in a stale and overly commercialised industry.

This fragrance sounds delicious… and your photos are just something else! GORGEOUS!
